Downtown Burlington Parking Study ~ Final Report:
Burlington
This study was conducted by Wilbur Smith Associates (WSA) for the City of Burlington?s Public Works Department and was funded with support from the Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization. It evaluates existing and future parking supply and demand for non-residential land use within the City of Burlington?s downtown area.2003

Downtown Parking Study ~ Burlington, Vermont:
Burlington
The City of Burlington commissioned this study to address several issues affecting the downtown area parking; Residential permit programs, assurace of convenient, adequate short-term parking for customers ensuring the downtown area's continued vitality, and implications of alternative parking management strategies for regional congestion management. Parking is generally the most expensive, and sometimes most time-consuming, portion of a trip to the downtown area, and therefore offers some opportunities to encourage travel demand management strategies such as ridesharing, transit use, and other alternatives. Also in this study, an update of the parking inventory is presented, and the adequacy and operations of short term, long term, handicapped and truck loading spaces in the CBD are evaluated.1993

Colchester, Essex, & Burlington Parking and Ride Share Studies ~ 1993 Project 4:
Colchester / Essex / Burlington
This document covers five Park & Ride topics for Chittenden County; 1. Town of Colchester - Park & Ride Lots, 2. Town of Essex - Park & Ride Lots, 3. Town of Essex - Use of Existing Lots for Ridesharers to Burlington, 4. Van Purchase Demonstration Project - Feasibility Study, 5. Regional Intermodal Park & Ride Strategy. Each of these concepts, if implemented and vigorously pursued, would reduce the number of vehicle trips. Each concept requires various amounts of initial public funding as well as ongoing management and maintenance costs. Since the underlying goal is to effect change in commuting style of as large a percentage of the population as possible, efforts should be proportionately focused on those programs which can affect the largest numbers of commuters on a permanent basis.1993

Chittenden County Park & Ride Lots Prioritization: Final Report:
This report updates a 1999 Park and Ride study that grew from a 1993 report by Hamlin Engineers which identified twenty potential locations for new Park and Ride lots in Chittenden County. The purpose of this report is to prioritize an expanded list of twentyseven locations, recommend strategies to implement priority sites, select specific facility locations for project development (scoping), and identify other ways to expand the region?s Park and Ride network by combining these facilities with other transportation projects.2004

Chittenden County Park and Ride Lots Prioritization: Interim Report:
A 1993 study by Hamlin Engineers identified twenty potential locations for new Park and Ride lots in Chittenden County, which also identified the need to update the County?s existing Park and Ride lots. Specific sites were identified within the Circumferential Highway corridor in Essex and Colchester as well as general locations throughout the County. The purpose of this interim report is to prioritize these twenty-two locations for use by the Vermont Agency of Transportation and as a first step in developing an action plan for Chittenden County.1999
